Maternidad Zona 10 - Today, we had the awesome experience of visiting a hospital that only delivers very poor soon-t0-be mothers. They will not deliver if there is a chance of complication; they transfer them to a different facility. The Fire Department will give the mother's a ride to the hospital because most of them don't have transportation. Sister Call and a member of her ward, Karin, wanted to check out the facility today. They have about 100 maternity kits to distribute to the facility. Their Young Women group helped assemble them and they too will also distribute them to the mothers'. This facility is one of three other hospitals that help these mothers.
Adorable little one getting ready to go home. They don't use pins on the diapers only a band. The skirts the women wear have a band around their waist to hold them up the fabric.
This is the maternity ward - 15 beds in all. The other beds are on the other side of the wall.
Sister Call and Karin, a member of her ward, wanted to visit a maternity hospital to distribute maternity kits. This young mother came to the hospital without any shoes and this is her second child. She was so pleased to receive the kits. The worker's indicated she would be the most in need today.
After leaving the hospital, Richard and I spotted a couple of children that looked like one that would enjoy a car. They were with their grandmother. When Richard gave them the car, their faces became one giant smile.
You can plainly see how thrilled the boys were with the new gift. Our hearts are filled with happiness and satisfaction when we distribute such an small gift to the children.
